When you need garbage disposal replacement
Here are the most common problems that we fix –
Unit won’t work. If the unit won’t work when the power switch is turn on, then it’s probably because of an electricity issue. The first step is to push the reset button, which is generally located under the sink or near the side of the unit.
Next, look at the circuit breaker or fuse box to see if the disposal is receiving electrical current. If you can’t see any obvious reasons to explain why the unit doesn’t work, then it’s time to call us.
Humming or vibrating sound. If you turn on the power but hear only a vibrating or humming sound, you should turn off power to the unit and call Mr. B’s Plumbing. This kind of sound generally means that the flywheel is stuck, which needs professional repair.
Loud noises. If a disposal is making loud noises, they are several different possible causes. It’s best to have one of our technicians inspect the pump and help you decide whether to replace the disposal or repair it.
Leaks. If there are leaks around the disposal, they should be addressed as soon as possible to stop potential damage to property.
Backups. If the water isn’t draining out of your sink, or if the disposal drains slowly, then there’s probably a blockage somewhere in the drain.
